Our first full time campground was a place called Ramblin Pines.

We'd stay here until December 10th and then head out for our next destination. It is a well maintained RV park that features a lot of renters. Some show up for the weekends, others for a week, and still, a lot of others live here full time.
You could tell by the size of their sites and what was on them. There are neighbors who installed outdoor screened rooms, permanent stairs and landscaping. While we are totally new to this lifestyle, it was clear that it's a mish-mash of people having different living circumstances. Everyone we met was welcoming.
Julie and I thought we would position ourselves close to Washington, DC and Baltimore. We would stay for a month and on the weekends, we would visit each city. We chose Georgetown for Thanksgiving and wound up spending two nights there and were happy we did.

We stayed at the Georgetown Inn, which was very comfortable and across the street was Martins Tavern ( JFK's hangout... he wrote his inaugural speech there and also proposed to Jackie), which was fantastic from the decorations (theirs & ours), to the food and atmosphere. I left without my Turkey Day hat. It wound up on our waiters head and remained there through the evening!
I visited Georgetown a long time ago and honestly don't remember much. This time, Julie and I walked all over the place and visited some of the historic sites, parks, Potomac river sites and wandered in and out of a lot of very cool shops.
Friday, we spent time at Georgetown Waterfront Park. It's part of a national park system that features lots to do. There was ice skating, shopping, joggers, outdoor food places and a lot of artwork. Later that night, we ate at Sequoia (recommended by friends), and it did not disappoint. Again, good food, atmosphere and service!
Our last day in Georgetown, we walked up to Tudor place, which was owned by Martha Washington's family. It sits up high on a hill and overlooks the Potomac. The grounds are beautifully maintained and it's buildings reflect what time was like from Tudor's beginnings up until the last heir of the estate passed.
It was a fabulous weekend!
